Each participant will make two pies:
Pie #1 will be a berry pie. This pie shall heretofore be referred to as “The Berry Pie.”
Pie #2 will be of the participant’s devising. This pie shall heretofore be referred to as “The Signature Pie.”
The Esteemed Judges will eat the pies in a blind taste test:
Each Esteemed Judge will receive four very large slices of pie. The Esteemed Judges are very happy about this. They will not know from whom each slice came.
The Esteemed Judges will rate each slice:
The slices will be rated on a number of aspects:
- Crust
- Texture
- Whole Pie Appearance/Presentation
- Flavor/Taste
These ratings will be made known to a Keeper of the Score, who will assign the ratings for each slice to the correct baker (a secret he alone shall know).
The Esteemed Judges will also assign a score for the Bravado of each Baker, which shall be added by the Keeper of the Score to that baker’s total.
All scores for each baker shall be totaled. The score will be reviewed and certified by Jennifer McKeever, Esquire.
A winner will then be declared.
